The goal of nursing orientation is to ensure that orientees receive consistent information regarding policies, procedures, standards and documentation to support practice and familiarize them with Indigenous Services Canada (FNIHB) vision, mission, values, goals and organizational structure.  In addition, each orientee is shown how to independently access online polices, procedures and competencies.  Policies covered include infection control, emergency response and the work environment.

In keeping with Indigenous Services Canada (FNIHB) vision, mission, values and goals, the objectives of nursing orientation are geared toward creatively using existing resources to meet the new demands of a constantly changing health-care environment.  Nursing orientation provides technological presentations including a learning management system for computerized evaluations.
