  • BC - Nursing Courses

      A 30 minute course designed for Registered Nurses working in Nursing Stations that have the i-STAT analyzer. It covers the parameters of use, sample collection, processing and quality control checks for the i-STAT analyzer.

      This 70-minute course provides clinical employees with the information necessary to correctly submit incident reports into the HAÍⱢCÍSTA report management system. This course consists of a PowerPoint (35 minutes), HAÍⱢCÍSTA sound clip, video demonstration (20 minutes), and a quiz (15 minutes).

      This 1 hour training is designed for all nurses working in remote nursing stations that have AIRVO 2 units. It covers the indications for use, how to set up and run as well as the disinfection process.

      ​This 36 minute narrated webinar covers an overview of the Pre-Printed Order for pharmacological treatment of Mental Health Emergencies. It is intended for all nursing station nurses who provide direct client care in remote or isolated Indigenous communities.

      ​This 1.5 hour training is designed for all nurses working in FNHA sites in BC. It covers the basics of MediNet/PharmaNet enrollment, how to use the database, and tips for practice. ​

      This course is designed for all nurses working in FNHA sites in BC. It contains five video modules and a practice activity that will teach nurses how to use the Nurse Daily Log program. 

  • BC - Other Courses

      This course is mandatory training designed to provide First Nations Health Authority staff, contractors and others who have access to FNHA systems and networks with knowledge  to protect information systems and sensitive information from internal and external threats.
      This course fulfills the security awareness training requirements set out by the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of British Columbia; the Personal  Information Protection Act of British Columbia;  the Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act; and ISO 27002 Code of Practice for Information Security Controls.

      This course will take approximately  45 minutes to complete.

      This 20 minute course has been designed for all FNHA employees who have already completed the first version of the Basic Safety Training (available on the Learning Space prior to January 4, 2017). It covers the section added to the newest version of Basic Safety Training that address Fleet Vehicle User responsibilities and distracted driving.

      New employees, newly transferred/promoted employees or current employees who have never taken the FNHA Basic Safety Training should take Basic Safety Training v. 3 instead of this course. Version 3.0 is also available on the Learning Space.

      This 1.5 to 2 hour course provides basic and necessary information to new employees about their safety in the workplace. It also ensures that FNHA is compliant with the BC Occupational Health and Regulation parts 3.22 to 3.25 Young or New Workers regulation for low-risk worksites.

      ​This 1 hour course builds on Basic Safety Training by providing in-depth training to deal with the risks related to workplace violence that may be encountered by field employees (e.g., Oral Health, Environmental Health, Nursing, and Community Engagement) and others in client-facing positions or who travel for work outside of the lower mainland.  It helps to ensure FNHA meets compliance with the BC Occupational Health and Regulation parts 3.22 to 3.25 Young or New Workers regulation.

      This 1-hour course builds on Basic Safety Training by providing in-depth training to deal with the risks related to working alone or in isolation and travel that may be encountered by field employees (e.g., Oral Health, Environmental Health, Nursing, and Community Engagement) and others in client-facing positions or who travel for work outside of the lower mainland.  It helps to ensure FNHA meets compliance with the BC Occupational Health and Regulation parts 3.22 to 3.25 Young or New Workers regulation.

      This 30-minute course builds on Basic Safety Training and Advanced Safety Training modules 1 and 2 by providing further training in:

      • Workplace Ergonomics to offset risks related to client handling, equipment handling and/or driving discomfort
      • Occupational exposures to offset risks for infectious/communicable disease

      The course helps to ensure FNHA meets compliance with the BC Occupational Health and Regulation parts 3.22 to 3.25 Young or New Workers regulation.
